Is it possible for me to download the firmware from my HDD or Tape Drive and upload that firmware code to another drive?

No, this is not something that Manufacturers have allowed and thus the STB Suite cannot perform this task. Contact the HDD or Tape Drive manufacturer for the correct firmware files and the STB Suite can upload the firmware to the drive.
